A build, start to finish

The customer texts a business misses, answered and booked, 24/7.

This is a real build I did for myself so I'd have something to show, not something in a slide deck. It runs live right now. Here's the problem it solves and what got built.

It's a live demo. Text it as much as you want, I won't call you or add you to a list.

Will this replace my front desk or my staff?

No. It covers the phone after hours and during the rush, when there's genuinely nobody to answer. It doesn't cut hair, run a job site, or make decisions your staff makes. If something needs a real person, it says so and hands it off immediately, it doesn't try to fake its way through.

01

Four things it does, the moment a text comes in.

It rides on the number you already have, nothing new for your customers to learn. Here's exactly what happens behind the scenes.

01 Answers & books, 24/7

A customer texts after hours, on a weekend, or while your desk is with someone else. The AI replies in seconds in your business's voice, answers hours, services, and basic questions, then books a real appointment and confirms it.

02 Closing-time intelligence

It knows when you actually close. If someone asks for a slot too late in the day, it doesn't book a no-show, it politely declines that time and offers the nearest earlier opening instead. Your schedule stays clean and realistic.

Can I come in at 5:45 today?
We close at 5:00 today, so 5:45 won't work, but I have 3:30 or 4:15 open. Want one of those?

03 Hands off anything that needs a person

When a message signals something urgent or sensitive, a real problem, a complaint, anything a person should handle, the AI stops trying to book, tells the customer help is on the way, and alerts your team right away. The safe default, every time, for any type of business.

04 The owner dashboard

Everything that came in overnight lands in one simple dashboard: who texted, what got booked, what got escalated, and any conversation you want to read. You see exactly what it handled, and what it handed to your team.

02

Knows your regulars. Handles new customers right.

Every text gets the right experience, whether it's someone who's been in before or a brand-new customer reaching out for the first time.

Regulars, fast lane

The AI recognizes a returning customer by their phone number the moment they text. No repeated questions, it confirms their name, asks what they need, and books. Fast and personal.

New customers, quick intake

New customers get a short intake: name, what they're coming in for, and anything else your business needs upfront. Booked into the right appointment type and length, not a generic slot that wastes a booking.

Set up to fit how you run things

What gets asked, in what order, and what counts as urgent is configured per business. A salon needs almost none of this. A contractor needs a job address and a time window. You decide, I set it up.

A few examples of how it adapts:
  • Salon & barbershop, name + service only, books in seconds
  • Cafe & restaurant, party size, date, special requests
  • Home services & trades, job type, address, preferred time window
  • Retail & small shops, item availability, pickup or delivery
  • Any business, you decide what gets asked and in what order
  • Regulars always skip the parts they've already given

See it in action, live.

Watch a real text conversation play out: a customer asks, the AI books, and an urgent request gets handed to a human. About 60 seconds, no signup.

Built like customer data matters, in plain language.

This handles real customer messages, so it's built carefully from the start rather than patched later. The full detail is on the Trust & data page, here's the short version.
What you can count on:
  • Runs on Claude via Amazon Bedrock, enterprise infrastructure, not a bolt-on
  • Your messages are never used to train AI models
  • Customer data encrypted and kept separate per business
  • Never guesses on anything urgent, hands it to a human instead
  • Books into its own dashboard today, see the Trust page for the honest note on existing scheduling systems
  • Turning off call forwarding puts your old line back

How pricing works for this build.

This is a bigger system than most builds, it has its own dashboard and runs live, customer-facing traffic around the clock. That's part of why it's scoped and quoted individually rather than off a rate card. Here's exactly how it's structured.

01 Free walkthrough

45 minutes at your shop, or 15 on the phone. I'll tell you honestly if a receptionist is the right first build for you.

02 Fixed price

Agreed before I write a line of code. Configured to your business, live in days once we start.

03 Hosting & care, required for this build

This one runs on my infrastructure and my AI account, so hosting is part of the product, not an add-on. It covers the servers, the AI, monitoring, and fixes. Billed monthly, cancel anytime, and it turns off.

04 Off switch, no commitment

Revert your call forwarding and your old line comes back. No penalty, no argument.

Direct math on the care plan: if it catches even two bookings a month that would've gone to voicemail, it's paid for itself several times over. That's the honest case for the monthly fee, not a feature list.

Questions & concerns

The things owners ask first.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. It runs on your existing number, customers text the same line they always have. Setup happens on my side, nothing new for your customers to learn.

What if it gets something wrong?

It's built to fail safe. Anything it isn't confident about, and any urgent or sensitive request, gets handed to your team rather than guessed at. It's software, so it can still make mistakes, that's why a person reviews anything that gets escalated and why you can revert call forwarding at any time to turn it off entirely.

Is this HIPAA-compliant?

No, and I am not taking on medical or dental clients right now. That is a deliberate choice while I finish getting professional liability insurance in place, and it means I do not handle protected health information at all today. If that changes, a signed BAA before touching any record would be a precondition, along with the same agreement with every provider in the path, consistent with the Privacy Policy. See the Trust & data page for the full answer.

How long does setup take?

Days, not months. No software for your team to install, no hardware. I configure it to your hours, services, intake questions, and voice, test it with you, then go live.

Will it sound like a robot to my customers?

It answers in your business's voice, your hours, your services, your tone. Most customers just experience a fast, helpful reply that books them in. When something needs a human, a human gets it.

Does it connect to the scheduling system I already use?

Today, no, it books onto its own dashboard rather than writing into a third-party system. For a lot of businesses that's a non-issue, for others it's a real cost. Full honest answer on the Trust & data page.

Who do I talk to if something comes up?

Me, not a support queue or a call center. Text or email directly at josh.finlayson@jfstrategicadvisors.com or call (267) 500-8189.

Stop sending customers to voicemail.

Free 45-minute walkthrough at your shop, or a 15-minute call if you'd rather start there. We'll look at your missed texts together and see whether this makes sense for your business.
